My name is Michael Buckalew. I’m a graphic designer and printmaker in Birmingham, Alabama, focused on apparel, merchandise, and artwork inspired by music and Southern culture.

I run A Buck Short, where I release my own shirts and collaborate with other artists, venues, businesses, and music-related projects. I’m involved in more than just the artwork—I also choose garments, prepare designs for screen printing, coordinate production, promote releases, and fulfill orders.

My work is influenced by old band tees, lot shirts, folk art, graffiti, skate graphics, and anything that feels a little imperfect and lived-in. I’m available for merchandise design, apparel graphics, branding, and other creative projects.
